DIY Yarn Banner

Everyone close your eyes and put your hand up if you’re a little bit bad at craft that is supposed to be really easy. Oh good, it’s all of us. Luckily, we have a simple person’s project right here. The DIY Yarn Banner comes courtesy of CreativeBug and the moment we laid eyes on it, that blank wall in our home suddenly made sense. This is what we’ve been waiting for. The materials are super cheap, the steps are ridiculously easy, and the outcome is more amazing than all of the shooting stars. All of them.

You just need a wooden dowel of any length (or this would actually look great with a straight tree branch as well), scissors, glue, and balls of yarn in whatever colours you like. Cut the yarn into equal long lengths, rest your dowel between two chairs so you can work on it hands-free, squeeze glue along the top of the dowel, and work in colour groups to lay batches of yarn over at the midpoint. Let the glue set, hang the banner where you want it, and trim the ends into a dramatic shape.

Congratulations, you have just participated in magic.
